A newly formed joint venture has unveiled plans for a £530m regeneration of the Fallowfield campus area in south Manchester, marking one of the largest student-led urban renewal schemes announced in the UK this year. The project, centred on ageing halls of residence and underused land close to the University of Manchester's Owens Park site, will deliver thousands of new bed spaces alongside retail, leisure and green public realm, replacing 1960s-era tower blocks that have long been earmarked for demolition.
